Embrace vocational training, students charged as Abesan Senior High School celebrates Vocational Day

Students have been implored to take vocational studies seriously in order to boost their chances of self reliance and reduce unemployment in the country.
This charge was given by participants at the Vocational Day of Abesan Senior High School, Ipaja, Lagos State.
Addressing he students, the Vice Principal Academic of the school, Mrs Folasade Odeyale, encouraged the students to take vocational studies very seriously to boost their employment prospects.
According to her, employment situation in the country is so competitive that not everyone can secure paid employment. She however stressed that those who master some trade stand at an advantage to employ themselves and even create employment for others.
The head of vocational department, Mr Power John, said the vocational day was organised to bring out the talents of the students, to enable them display what they have learnt.
‘We invite the student to display what they have learnt to find a way of bringing out their hidden talents, he said.

Exhibition at the Agricultural Science Department stand

The programme featured display of items produced by the Dyeing and Bleaching Department, Visual Art Department, Agricultural Science Department, Technical Drawing Department and the Home Economics Department.
The students exhibited Tie and dye materials, agricultural products, soaps, model cars, ships and aeroplane among others.
The students also demonstrated production techniques and the use of the various products.

The other members of the department include Mrs Grace Akinsuyi, Mr Lateef Hassan and Mrs Abosede Okikiola.
