Tributes as Alhaji Oladoyin bows out of Lagos Service

It was tributes galore on Tuesday, April 19, this year as the Principal of Lagos Baptist Senior College, Orile Agege, Alhaji Tajudeen Adetunji Oladoyin formally bowed out of active service of Lagos State public service upon attainment of statutory age of sixty years.
Oladayin who retired as a director wears many caps. Apart from retiring as a school principal, he is the outgoing Missioner and Imam of the Muslim Teachers Association of Nigeria (MUTAN).
The occasion held inside the school premises was graced by dignitaries from near and far. The Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Education District 1, Barrister Margaret Solarin, was represented by the Director of Schools

Delivering the TG’s message at the occasion, Adeshina described Oladoyin as one who stands out for his calmness and leadership qualities, saying he never saw him displaying anger even in the face of provocation.
A former Lagos State Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Chairman and current Chairman Board of Trustees of MUTAN, Alhaji Ahmed Ajiboye, described Oladoyin as a role model whose word are his bond. He also rated him high on morality. Drawing from his personal experience, he said Oladoyin stood stoutly behind him when he was beleaguered as NUT chairman.

‘Oladoyin never looked down on anyone no matter how small you are. He would always recognise and give everyone their dues’, Ajiboye disclosed while welcoming the retiring principal to the club of retirees.
Delivering the retirement lecture, the new Missioner and Imam of MUTAN, Alhaji Abdulwahab Lawal, identified the various stages of human development from the womb to birth, to infancy and adult stage to the time Allah has set for us to depart the world.
He said there is appointed date for everyone to depart the world.
He therefore charged the civil servants to be aware that they are going to depart the service one day, saying what would be left would be the legacy of service they render.
The chairman of Agege chapter of the NUT, Comrade Ahmed Bolaji Ojedokun, described Oladoyin as a devoted unionist whose exit would be felt by the Union.
‘The Union feels highly honoured to be associated with this great man of high spiritual and sound intellectual acumen for the betterment of our community.

‘His favourable disposition to the Nigeria Union of Teachers in advice and great counselling are clear reflections of his innate concerns for the welfare and betterment of teachers’, Ojedokun declared while stating that the Union would continue to tap from his wisdom.

MUTAN Chairman, Alhaji Raheem Abiodun Jimoh described Oladoyin as one of the best teachers one can find in and outside the classroom.
‘He can be downright factual with great zeal and confidence. My brother is a man of great wisdom, knowledge and patience. In administration he’s a genius. His school excelled in internal and externatl examinations throughout his sojourn as a Priincipal’, the Jimoh who started work the same day as Oladoyin stated.

Oladoyin was born on April 19, 1962 to the family of Pa Jimoh Oladoyin and Mrs Habibat Oladoyin.
He attended Ansar ud Deen Primary School, Araromi from 1968-1973 then proceeded to El-Azhar Arabic and Islamic Institute, Ilorin where he obtained Higher Muslim Certificate in 1979.

He obtained diploma in Arabic, Hausa and Islamic Education from Bayero University Kano in 1983. He obtained B.A. Hons from the University of Ilorin in 1986 and Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Ado Ekiti in 2008.
He was appointed a teacher in Lagos State Government and posted to Lagos State Model College, Badore on February 17, 1988. He served as a teacher in many schools in Lagos State including Saka Tinubu Memorial High School, Orile Agege, Dairy Farm Secondary School, Abesan Senior High School.

He was appointed Vice Principal Olorunnisola Community Junior Grammar School, Ayobo on August 1, 2013 from where he was elevated to Principal Igando Community Junior Grammar School on June 2, 2015. He has also served as Principal at State Senior High School Alimoso, Abesan Comprehensive Junior Grammar School and Lagos Baptist College where he retired.
