NACOMYO Charges Muslims Youths on Islamic Education

An appeal has gone to Muslims to acquire Islamic and Arabic education in order to live a fulfilled life here and benefit in the hereafter.
This appeal was given at the grand finale of the Quran recitation competition of the Agege zone of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), held at the weekend.
The zonal coordinator, Brother Kabir Zakariyah Obayemi, in his address said the study of the Quran confers a lot of advantage on the learner.
‘Al-Quran teaches morality, justice, equity, love, compassion, and humanity and many other virtues which if we all imbibe them, there will not be poverty , crime and injustice.
‘Al-Quran also talked about the responsibility of the leadership and those in position of leadership will have a lot account for before Almighty Allah’, he declared.
Obayemi also implored Muslim youths to collect their permanent voter cards and cast their votes for God-fearing candidates.
He also charged them to avoid being used as thugs and tools of destruction during the election.
He charged political leaders that will emerge after the election to hold their position as sacred trust to Allah.
In her own contribution, the proprietress of Iqram Ideal Model School and Ideal Model College, Alhaja Safurat Olufunke Bakare, said combination of western education with Arabic and Islamic knowledge makes the learner complete.
‘Student who have Islamic knowledge have a lot of advantages. It teaches the children the fear of Allah. Allah himself is the first teacher that taught Adam. The Prophet peace be on him said whoever knows the Quran must teach others. Islamic knowledge is very powerful’, she said while stating that Islamic knowledge provides protection in time of insecurity.

The first position in the first category (one Hizb) was won by Ismail Ashia ahead of Aliu Ameerah and Lawal Habeeb.
In the second category (two hizb) Maryam Abdul Lateef emerged first while Ismail Ali and Olaniyi Abdul Malik came second and third respectively
