Emefiele, Now In DSS Custody
The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed the arrest of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele.
This confirmation was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the DSS, Mr Peter Afunanya.
‘The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.
‘The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this.‘
The arrest is sequel to the suspension of the CBN helmsman by President Bola Tinubu on Friday.
The arrest may not be unconnected to series of allegations against Mr Emefiele.
It was gathered that he was arrested in Lagos and has been airlifted to the DSS custody in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
