Finalists Emerge For MUTAN Science and Islamic Studies Quiz Competition

Finalist have emerged for this year’s MUTAN Science and Islamic Studies Quiz Competition organized by the Muslim Teachers Association of Nigeria (MUTAN), Lagos State.
Twelve schools drawn from the senior and junior categories across the six education districts in Lagos State have qualified for the final phase of the competition which started with zonal category.
According to the result obtained from the six districts, Vetland Senior Grammar School, Ifako Ijaye, Oreyo Senior Grammar School, Ikorodu and Ilado Community Senior High School , Eti Osa will represent Districts 1, 2 and 3 respectively in the senior category.
Birrel Avenue Senior High School, Lagos Mainland, Army Cantonment Boys Senior Secondary School, Ojo and Ransome Kuti Memorial Senior Grammar School, Mushin will represent Districts 4, 5 and 6 respectively.
The qualifiers in the junior category include Vetland Junior Grammar School, Ifako Ijaye, igbobi Junior High School and Lagos State Model Junior College, Agbowa Ikosi who qualified from districts 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
The other qualifiers are Muritala Ajadi Animashaun Community Junior Grammar School, Surulere, Badagry Junior Grammar School and Agidingbi Junior High who complete the representation for Districts 4, 5 and 6 in the junior category.
The qualifiers emerged after rigorous competition in Islamic Studies, English Language, the sciences and Mathematics.
The final will be held later in the year at a venue to be announced by the organisers.
The maiden edition was won by Community Senior Secondary School, Workyard and Vetland Junior Grammar School, Ifako Ijaiye, in the Senior and Junior categories respectively in the 2023/24 session.
The second edition held in the primary schools category was won by Ikosi Nursery and Primary School, Kosofe in Education District I.
The quiz is an annual programme organized by MUTAN, an association of Muslim teachers and non-teaching members of staff in public primary and secondary schools.
