Olabode Seeks Support as Ola Oluwa Muslim Grammar School Old Students Elect New Executives

History was made on Saturday, August 31 this year when the first formal national executive members of the Ola Oluwa Muslim Grammar School, Ado Ekiti was elected.
The delegate election held at the school hall led to the emergence of Retired Brigadier-General Dele Tajudeen Olabode as the President of the body.

He polled a total of 76 votes ahead of Comrade Julius Akinlabi Ade Ojo who recorded 31 votes.

Mrs. Abiodun Christy Akintade emerged National Vice President unopposed.

Dr Bankole Eniola Obileye emerged National General Secretary while Mr. Oladimeji Felix Fele clinched the post of National Treasurer.

In his acceptance speech, Olabode, expressed gratitude to the members of the electoral commission for their dedication, the delegates and co-contestants for their commitment.

He therefore sought the cooperation of the entire members of the Old Students Association.

‘I am deeply honoured by the trust you have placed in me, and I am excited about the journey that lies ahead. With great reverence, I embrace this role, recognising the legacy I am about to lay in collaboration with other executive members and the responsibility to build upon it.
‘I am grateful to all of you who have decided to give me your mandates to be your National President, for you have made the journey ahead smoother. It is with great humility that I accept this prestigious responsibility.

‘I am thrilled to accept this position, and I promise to bring my passion and dedication to the roles and responsibilities. Thank you all for finding me worthy of being your National President’, the new President said.
The election was keenly contested with the various contestants drilled on their programmes and vision for the association. Probing questions were asked on the WhatsApp platform of the Old Students Association.
The Electoral Committee under the leadership of Alhaji Moshood Bello applied the rules strictly thereby ensuring that the contest didn’t degenerate.
The campaign was intense with each of the sides reaching out to the delegates who came from far and near to cast their votes.
It is expected that the school would take it proper place alongside its counterparts first and second generation schools in Ekiti and the country with the election of the new national executives.
